In January one year ago, I had the privilege to visit the Pokemon Cafe in Osaka!
The Sword and Shield event was running from November 15, 2019 to January 17, 2020.
As usual, every Pokemon Center Cafe has an exclusive merchandise corner with cafe themed goods.
You can get to purchase one of these Cafe Pikachus which is only sold in the cafe.
The good thing about this Pokemon Cafe is that it's right beside the Pokemon Center. So if you missed the timeslot for your cafe visit, you can shop in the Pokemon Centre while you await for the next available slot. The other Pokemon Center with a Pokemon Cafe next to it is the Tokyo DX branch at Nihonbashi in Tokyo.
This Pokemon Center is huge! I have went to the Tokyo and Sapporo branches and this probably came in second to Tokyo? The Mega Tokyo one is still the largest though đ
When we went to the cafe, we didn't know that we would require prior reservation in order to dine there. However there was one last table available and the staff kindly let us in. 5/5 service!
Cafe Interior:
I'm not sure if the backdrop changes for every season, but spy the cute Galar starter decoration around the ceilings and the walls! The staff there were also wearing special cafe themed clothing.
There was also this Pikachu dance performance at every scheduled time slot which is pretty cute. Look at all these adults taking videos of a Pikachu mascot.
Food Menu:
All the orders are placed through an iPad which came with several language options which made things much more convenient for those who do not understand Japanese. I also noticed that most of the staff here do not understand English and there may be a struggle trying to communicate with them in English.
Our Poke Feast:

Snorlax's Tummy Filling Nap Lunch Plate „ 1,958
(Frankly speaking this is like your typical Asian fried rice plus karaage which costs $20.)

Grookey Melty Pie Stew
„ 1,848
(I thought this dish would not be filling but the pot pie stew contained meat and potatoes which filled me up fast. The Grookey was made up of bread and meat at the sides which is pretty cute. But otherwise it tasted kinda average.)

Poké Ball Dessert Bowl
„ 1,738
(A well assembled dish with a cake that looks like a Slowpoke in the Pokeball bowl. The cake is soft and yummy, probably my favourite dish out of whatever I have ordered.)

Gengar's Confuse Ray Smoothie „ 880
(This is a grape slushie drink with 2 biscuits in a Gengar cup. You can pay extra to bring home the cup but I chose not to. There's a ice cube shaped light in the middle of the drink which adds on to its unique factor.)

Mew's Fluffy Marshmallow Drink „ 1,490
(One word to describe this drink: diabetes. It's full of cream and marshmallow. If you don't have a sweet tooth then you probably won't enjoy this.)

Like typical cafe food, you are paying more for the aesthetics than the taste. Honestly I feel the drinks and desserts were cuter, tastier, and much more worth paying for than the mains. No way I'm gonna pay $20 for fried rice on a snorlax plate again đ€Ł
NOTE: You will need advanced reservations to Pokemon Cafe Osaka before you visit.
